Building sector is one of the most resource consuming sectors in the European Union. According to the European Construction Sector Observatory (ECSO), buildings account for 40% of total EU final energy consumption and produce about 35% of all greenhouse emissions. Moreover, construction wastes suppose around the 33% of the total wastes.
According to the document “Sectoral Resource Maps”, Spain is the first country in EU that most resources consuming for construction, Portugal is the 8th of the 28 members of the European Union.
In this context, LIFE ReNatural NZEB project wants to test and promote new construction solutions to achieve Nearly Zero Energy Building with low carbon footprint, using recycled and natural materials, in Spain and Portugal.
The project will develop four demonstration buildings:
“Recycled and natural materials and products to develop Nearly Zero Energy Buildings with low carbon footprint”.
The LIFE ReNatural NZEB Project aims to demonstrate and promote new solutions to achieve Nearly Zero Energy Buildings with low carbon footprint, using natural and recycled materials, in Spain and Portugal.
