Ecodesign can be defined as the "integration of environmental aspects into product design with the aim of improving the environmental performance of the product throughout its life cycle "1. In the process of trying to minimise the environmental impact in the construction sector, there are various strategies to address it.

Technologies play an important role and are capable of achieving a lower environmental impact in the construction sector. Technology ranges from more sustainable materials, insulation, air and temperature control, etc., which allow for more sustainable construction. In addition, there are various certifications that guarantee the sustainability of buildings.

Another strategy to minimise environmental impact in the building sector is nature-based solutions (NBS). The European Commission defines them as "solutions to the challenges facing society that are inspired and supported by nature; that are cost-effective and provide environmental, social and economic benefits, and help to increase resilience".

This conference aims to raise awareness of the importance and benefits of both technology and nature-based solutions for the reduction of environmental impact in the building sector and the application possibilities for more sustainable construction.
